Alison & Jane - Volunteers

Alison and Jane are one of our favourite double acts.  They joined PICCPals as a pair through Alison's friendship with Helen from Kayes Textiles as they both knew of friends and family who had received treatment.  Neither of them enjoy sewing (even a LITTLE bit!!!) and they are the perfect example of other ways that individuals can get involved and help us as a charity.

Alison and Jane are part of the QA team.  They would say that they 'just cut threads' but there is so much more to this Quality Assurance role within the process of making sleeves, as we want every patient who receives a sleeve to feel the love and care that has gone into its production.  They have recently expanded their contribution to the charity's work by training as 'Postal Wizards' - this means they are part of the team that processes the orders as they come through to the webstore. They select the right size sleeves, RigWraps or Fintee, write postcards, pack the parcels and finally take them to the Post Office.  As our orders are increasing this role has grown considerably in size and will continue to do so.

Everything these two do is done with a smile on their faces - whether it's 'just cutting threads' or 'just writing 50 postcards' and we are so grateful that they found us!
