Avril - Volunteer

Avril is one of our Wednesday hub crew and part of the cutting team.  She has been with PICCPals for a number of years and joined after finding out about the charity from her ZöeZigZag classes, where she enjoys transforming charity shop 'treasure', recycling denim into all manner of bags, pouches and luggage and making the most stunning quilts, which she often donates for raffles and auctions to raise money for a number of causes. 

Avril has been involved in charities for a number of years and is therefore an excellent member of the team not only in sharing her knowledge of the charity sector but also in terms of fund raising.  She has organised a number of fund raising events and raffles for PICCPals, including the annual 'Christmas hamper' and was instrumental in our contribution to the Southend Pier Poppy appeal in November 2025 when we produced a spectacular 917 poppies for the fabulous project.
