Helen - Volunteer

Helen is a a retired art teacher, having worked both in the UK and internationally. She is a talented artist and continues to create wonderful paintings through her involvement in a number of local art groups.

Helen joined Zöe's sewing class at Kayes Textiles as she wanted to make clothes in a style that she liked and most importantly that fitted!  It was through this class that she was introduced to PICCPals and she has been volunteering for them ever since.  As well as being skilled with a paintbrush, she is also an excellent sewist and turns sleeves at both the Leigh and Westcliff hubs, as well as working from home.   

When asked about why she has become so involved with the group she says:

"I love this group of women who volunteer and would much rather donate my time to a very worthy cause than donate money to a charity that pays their executives huge salaries!"
